A small part of me just wanted to stop and stay in this moment forever. Does that happen to you a lot? But another part of me was also excited that there is so much to see in this beautiful world. .
Ever since we’ve started travelling, the concept of time has taken a serious hit. We forget about which day it is until our friends remind us on the phone. We have lost the sense of time because we have fallen into a routine of doing things we like irrespective of what time the clock says.
People ask us all the time. What do you do all day? Aren’t you bored after going from one place to another? So much time has passed already. I think you guys should come back. What if we’ve lost the sense of time altogether? .
What do you feel about time? Does it push you to do things or stop you from doing things you really want to do?
Imagine for a moment, being in a place with dramatic peaks and barren hillsides, no vegetation due to the altitude. There’s virtually nobody for hundreds of kilometres, you’re short on breath, the water is a mysterious pinkish red. Now imagine there’s also about 400 lanky pink birds with knees that bend the wrong way who are constantly shoving their heads into the muck. It would sound like I’ve just described someone’s nightmare. But those birds are just flamingoes hanging out and that place is simply one of the most awe inspiring pieces of land I’ve ever come across. It’s in Bolivia, and you should probably go check it out. If you have time.

One man's trash is another man's treasure.⠀
Spotted at the #Antique#Market that happens every Sunday in Binh Thanh, just 20 minutes north of downtown Saigon in a little cafe that gets absolutely packed with #bargain hunters sifting through fake and real items.⠀

Es mejor simple y natural,
y eso es lo que hay ❤️
What a difference 30 minutes can make... this is the same photograph with the same perspective as seen in the last post, but only half an hour later.
Although one is able to visit this volcano, the volcano itself is still active... and is a sulfur mine. When you hike up the side of the volcano, you pass many miners working through the night for the sulfur (also seen in this picture on the left side as the yellowish spot from which smoke arises). They work at night because of the cooler temperatures. The work is hard because of the steepness of the volcano, and inhaling all the sulfur gas is terrible for one’s body. Unfortunately many of the miners do not wear any gas masks to protect themselves.

The colors at sunrise at Mount Ijen were insane. It was tough getting up to the top of this volcano with its beautiful crater (acidic) lake, especially because it was pitch black at night. However, the views and experience kept me on a natural high for days afterwards.

Iconic Mount Bromo with its surrounding hills and other volcanoes on the island of Java. If you want to see volcanoes, go to Indonesia. They are stunning and seem to pop out all over above the clouds wherever you fly within the country.
I had to get up at 1:30 am, then stand in the bitter cold and strong winds to get this picture, but the sight was so worth it. However, before you visit this place, do your research to make sure you avoid the crowds and find the ideal spot to get a good view.

Bumpy flight over the Nazca Lines ☟ ————————–———//—————————–——
✐ These lines are ancient geoglyphs etched into the Nazca Desert in the south of Peru. Some are over 2,000 years old and still today many historians and archaeologists have no uniform agreement as to how or why they were created.. 💫💫💫

Most visit Mount Bromo to see the volcano at sunrise and quickly leave afterwards. Unfortunately many ignore what was for me the most exciting part about coming to Mount Bromo. Surrounding the volcano lies The Sea of Sand, a moon like desert of volcanic sand. Driving into The Sea of Sand, you saw dust devils and various whirlwinds of sand rising up all over. The dust winds against the barren backdrop created this beautiful visual scenery. The one regret I have is not having spent more days at this place to fully explore it further.
PS: Despite its coneshape appearance, the hill you see in this picture is not Mount Bromo, but a hill next to the volcano.

The sunrises in Indonesia are always spectacular.

This is one of the most visually stunning islands I have ever seen... Padar Island in Komodo National Park, Indonesia. What you can’t really pick up on in the picture is that the 3 main beaches all had different colors... the one on the left in the back was pink!, one was black, and the other one your typical beige sand color. I was just standing on top of the hill in awe of the beauty. I can’t wait to get back to Komodo National Park for its diving and beauty.
I am so glad I met @beth_al during my diving trips in the days before so that we could split the costs and visit this island without a large group tour, before large groups of tourists would arrive, and before the sun became too bright. Plus she was a fun one to hang out with :).
Sunrise at Hanalei Bay. Photographing on the North Shore of Kauai was challenging as I found out that this area is much rainier than I expected. However, on this early morning, I was fortunate enough to capture this beautiful sunrise over Hanalei Bay. And yeah, it rained again a few minutes after that.

I didn’t even come during the winter time to Oahu when the surf is the biggest, but the waves I saw in May were huge compared with what I have seen at other places. And the water was so colorful. I could sit there for hours watching surfers and boogieboarders ride those majestic waves.
Fisherman at Inle Lake in Myanmar. When I planned my trip to Southeast Asia, I was for a while not sure if Myanmar would be interesting to me. After having been there with @johnaigner, I consider it as my favorite place to have visited, particularly for photography.
